Welcome to our sidesaddle department store which is based in Battle, East Sussex, ENGLAND,  United Kingdom.  We are a family run mail order company selling and hiring various items of interest to the side saddle or reenactment enthusiast. These are victorian style garments which will appeal to the sidesaddle lady or the reenactment enthusiast alike. New .... in 2009 modern Fruit of the Loom T shirts with an original 'ASIDE' design in various colours and sizes, also a few items of jewellery which will interest the enthusiast and horse lover.

On our staff we are lucky to have a qualified saddler and a seamstress experienced in making period riding costumes, if you have any queries on wearing a period costume, we may be able to advise you. Feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements, not everything in the pipeline is shown here.Period costumes suitable for competition or display are constantly under construction, some of our costumes may be viewed at Farthing Saddlery, Rushford Farm, Three Cups Heathfield,East Sussex, where you may try on with your horse and sidesaddle if you wish. The costumes are cut from victorian patterns, made up to be as authenic as possible by reference to Victorian fashion magazines, and adapted to the modern figure. Every costume is different, research is carried out into genuine victorian costumes for ideas to incorporate into the costumes we make.

In the undergarments department, you will find Victorian style petticoats, suitable corsets and riding trousers . We also have a selection of Victorian style hats, if you need a hat to team with your costume, let us know and we will do our best to help.

There are hazards in wearing a flowing costume on horseback, and The Emporium and its proprietors take no responsibility for any accidents or injuries occurring while wearing our period costumes.

Items should be ordered by post from our Battle address, apply to the email address  sales@theemporium.org.uk  for information and the postage due or send in the order form with your cheque.

For postal orders, make cheques for costumes payable to A. Norbury, in English pounds sterling only. The simplest way of making a payment is by a cheque or Paypal, however please check availablity of goods and confirm total cost with The Emporium. It may be necessary to wait for the clearance of a cheque before the goods are sent out to you.

Returns of undamaged, unused items which turned out to be unsuitable, is acceptable, within 14days please, and a full refund will be made. Unfortunately we cannot refund the postage.
